We support the
Development of ecological, profitable and resilient agriculture with the aim of achieving a better standard of living for small farmers.

The Swiss association “Glück für Togo” has been supporting the establishment and operation of the research and model farm “Ferme Modèle de Donomadé” for sustainable agriculture in the village of Donomadé in Togo since 2015. The farm is being developed by experts from the Togolese association “Étoile Verte”, together with committed farmers from the village. Together they develop sustainable models for small-scale tropical agriculture on six hectares of fertile farmland. These include regenerative cultivation methods with permaculture, and agro-forestry and structured, healthy working methods without expensive machines. In doing so, locally available resources are predominantly used and a large variety of locally adapted seeds are bred. The aim is to enable the surrounding farmers to create greater added value. This with the help of tried and tested and sustainable cultivation methods, as well as safe storage of agricultural products, sensible further processing and a joint sales platform. The "FeMoDo" is to become a research and development center for the region with great charisma. To this end, the Swiss association also promotes exchange with universities and development organizations.
